Solution Architect (Digital Hangar)

The focus of Digital Hangar (DH) is the improvement of passenger experience throughout the whole journey. The projects that are in focus are Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian and Brussels) main web portals, mobile apps (iOS and Android). On top, we’re developing our own R&D solutions within Hangar initiatives.

As a SOLUTION ARCHITECT for our team, You are a key player in delivering real impact in digitizing the travel experience of numerous clients of the Lufthansa Group. You are delivering process improvements and solutions for our Feature Teams and take part in our collaborative effort to develop the next era of digitally enhanced travelling.

Your responsibilities:

• Taking part in our digital product development, evaluating current solutions and developing new ones in collaboration with the Digital Hangar product teams,

• Providing technical guidance to product owners and making technical decisions and recommendations that support the long-term IT goals of the company,

• Designing solution architectures together with your team and presenting them to all management levels in a clear, detailed, and goal-oriented manner,

• Working in an international environment as part of a highly diverse team,

• Working in my role in the overarching architecture community of practice to share knowledge, contribute and give / receive feedback as part of my daily work.

  
  

Our requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Solution Architect,

• Experience in both front-end and back-end software development, with a solid understanding of complex, microservice-based architectures in legacy environments,

• Familiarity with Java and Spring (or comparable frameworks) as well as JavaScript with Angular or React,

• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases,

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, as well as containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker,

• Experience working with message brokers (e.g., Kafka),

• Proven ability to create architectural artifacts (e.g., diagrams, documentation),

• Experience collaborating within cross-functional, agile teams,

• Strong understanding of the needs of various stakeholders, with the ability to propose and effectively communicate technical solutions to business audiences,

• A proactive attitude and willingness to step outside of your comfort zone when needed,

• Very good command of English language,

• A self-starter with a proactive, self-driven mindset and the ability to take initiative without waiting for direction,

• Highly collaborative, eager to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and actively engage with others,

• Open to innovation, with a passion for experimenting, exploring new approaches, and continuously learning from feedback to develop effective, business-oriented solutions,

• A travel enthusiast, motivated to contribute to creating seamless and outstanding travel experiences for the Lufthansa Group’s customers,

• Willingness to work from the office in Gdańsk twice a week.

Optional

• Experience with mobile solution architecture,

• Understanding of the specific constraints and capabilities of mobile environments (iOS/Android),

• Background in building scalable and user-centric mobile applications.
