In this key role, you will work on development a new Data Platform across the Engineering organisation. The main goal of this position is to give to make our

Key accountabilities:
• Provides mentorship and technical guidance to team members, sharing best practices and helping less experienced engineers develop their skills.
• Builds a collaborative, supportive environment that promotes learning, growth, and shared success.
• Creates scalable, reliable software architec tures that meet both technical and commercial requirements.
• Adapts solutions to project-specific needs, applies standard processes, and identifies when patterns are appropriate or should be avoided.
• Decomposes complex systems into manageable components, designing scalable solutions that align with business requirements and long-term product vision.
• Brings a logical, data-driven approach to diagnosing and resolving technical challenges, ensuring that projects stay on track and meet quality standards. Skilled at anticipating potential issues and developing proactive solutions that minimise risks.
• Designs solutions that ensure compatibility with existing platforms, enhancing overall functionality and user experience.
• Ensures that documentation supports knowledge sharing and compliance, making it accessible and valuable for future reference.
• Demonstrates an adaptive attitude, actively seeking new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that enhance efficiency and product capabilities. Encourages a culture of innovation within the team, promoting creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
• Demonstrates in-depth technical knowledge and serves as a domain authority in one or more key technologies. Provides guidance on standard processes in design, development, and implementation, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and technical standards.
• Acts as a point of contact within their technical domain, demonstrating significant depth of knowledge.
• Utilises existing design patterns to develop reliable solutions, while also recognising when to adapt or avoid patterns to prevent anti-patterns.
Requirements
Min 3 years experience Pyspark and Python and familiarity with a variety of development technologies with emphasis on ELT.
• Significant experience in solution a rchitecture and technical design,
• Proven experience in data modelling and database design .
• Knowledge of industry standard processes in data management.
• Proficient in quality assurance practices, including code reviews, automated testing, and best practices for software testing.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is essential.

• Knowledgeable in integrating diverse systems and technologies, enabling seamless interaction across our technical environment.
• Experienced in implementing and optimising CI/CD pipelines, including the use of automation tools to streamline development, testing, and deployment. Skilled at setting up processes that enable rapid, reliable re leases, minimising manual effort and supporting agile development cycles.
• A master’s degree or equivalent experience or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Software Development Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is advantageous, demonstrating a commitment to technical excellence and professional development.
