Senior Jasper Report Designer / Layout Specialist

We are looking for a Layout Specialist to lead the design and implementation of high-fidelity, pixel-perfect PDF reports using JasperReports / Jaspersoft Studio. You will be responsible for evaluating feasibility, identifying technical risks, and building complex reporting templates.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development: Build and modify JRXML templates with a focus on high-end PDF layouts.

• Problem Solving: Resolve complex issues regarding pagination, page breaks, dynamic tables, and font embedding.

• Feasibility Analysis: Conduct technical spikes (POCs) to assess migration risks from legacy systems to JasperReports.

• Consultancy: Advise the team on "out-of-the-box" solutions vs. necessary workarounds or custom code.

• Collaboration: Work closely with Java developers and business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

• Expertise: Strong professional experience with JasperReports/Jaspersoft Studio (or equivalent enterprise reporting tools like BIRT, Crystal Reports, SSRS, or Oracle BI Publisher).

• Document Mastery: Proven track record in creating print-ready, pixel-perfect documents.

• Technical Depth: Deep understanding of subreports, conditional styling, font metrics, and dynamic layout behavior.

• Analytical Mindset: Ability to evaluate layout risks and PDF parity during reporting engine migrations.

• Communication: Proficiency in bridging the gap between business needs and technical constraints.

Nice to Have

• Basic knowledge of Java.

• Experience with Apache FOP, XSL-FO, iText, or PDFBox.

• Background in financial, regulatory, or high-volume client statement generation.
