About the Role
We are seeking a skilled SAP BASIS Consultant to support and improve authorization processes across SAP environments. This role blends technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration, focusing on system security, troubleshooting, and user support.
You will work as part of a broader SAP support team, managing system authorizations, contributing to secure system design, and ensuring continuous service improvement. Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain SAP user roles and authorizations, ensuring compliance and system integrity

Implement and optimize security policies across SAP platforms in collaboration with relevant teams

Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for BASIS and authorization-related incidents and service requests

Analyze complex issues, determine root causes, and configure systems to deliver stable solutions

Support the design and refinement of role-based access models in line with business needs

Maintain and manage SAP GRC systems

Collaborate with first-line support and technical teams to resolve user and system issues efficiently

Communicate with clients to ensure clear understanding of issues and timely resolution

Monitor support requests, identify recurring trends, and recommend process or system improvements

Lead minor system change initiatives and contribute to project activities when needed

Ensure documentation of solutions, processes, and changes to support knowledge sharing

Your Profile
-
Degree in IT, Business Information Systems, or related discipline
-
Hands-on experience in SAP BASIS and security/authorization modules (e.g., BC-SEC)

Familiarity with role and profile management, and SAP authorization concepts

Strong understanding of compliance, security policies, and risk mitigation in SAP systems

Experience conducting audits and optimizing security frameworks

Analytical mindset with proven ability to resolve complex issues independently

Knowledge of incident and change management tools (e.g., ITSM systems)

Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams and client-facing situations

Organized and self-motivated, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Understanding of ITIL processes and service management best practices

Fluency in English (spoken and written); German is a plus

SAP certifications are a strong advantage
