About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our Asklepios project team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines with a strong focus on performance, security, and compliance. This is a long-term, fully remote opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Apache NiFi.

• Develop data ingestion workflows from various sources (APIs, databases, file systems, cloud storage).

• Monitor and optimize data flow performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective data solutions.

• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are met.

• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues in a timely manner.

• Document data flow processes and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Apache NiFi in a production environment.

• Strong understanding of data ingestion workflows and integration from multiple sources.

• Hands-on experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud storage solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Good written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks.

• Familiarity with data monitoring and observability tools.

• Background in large-scale data engineering projects.
