Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead

We’re looking for a person to lead a small team of engineers and develop new functionalities and solutions that will further our mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Adding new functionality to l2beat.com (some frontend work, but mainly analysing and processing blockchain data on the backend) and leading a small team of engineers.

• Implementing integrations with various blockchain systems (APIs, explorers, L2s, bridges, tokens, etc.)

• Ensuring smooth operations of our deployments
  
  

Technical requirements

• Excellent problem solving skills

• Practical understanding of system design beyond CRUD applications

  • Components (client apps, backend services, etc)

  • Data modeling

  • Infrastructure (different models: docker, bare metal, server-less, cloud)

  • Data storage (file, RDS, NoSQL, redis etc.)

  • Logging and monitoring (incl. distributed systems)

• TypeScript/Node.js proficiency mainly in backend but also on the frontend side

• Experience with database schema design and query optimisation

• Monitoring and observability experience

• A Comp-Sci degree or a degree in a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience

• The solution to every problem is not another JS library

• Experience with the EVM and smart contracts will be an additional asset
  
  

Non-technical qualities

• Proficiency with the English language both in spoken and written form

• Open-mindedness; L2BEAT’s setup is quite unusual and we rely a lot on technologies developed in house

• Focus on the bigger picture and critical thinking when tackling abstract problems

• Mentoring skills to foster young talents

• Proactivity and willingness to ask questions

• You are based in Europe and work in the CET/CEST time zone
