Lead Machine Learning Engineer
About Kyper: Your Agentic Downtime Partner
Kyper is the "Agentic Downtime Partner" for heavy industry, dedicated to solving the $1.4 trillion threat of unplanned downtime. While others simply predict failures, Kyper orchestrates their resolution through an autonomous "Agentic Loop"—Identify, Define, Solve, and Learn. By monitoring thousands of signals to catch "silent erosion" (like micro-stoppages and lubrication issues) before they cascade, Kyper transforms maintenance from a traditional cost center into a strategic driver of value and safety.
Job Description: Lead Machine Learning Engineer (Predictive Maintenance)
Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Lead Machine Learning Engineer as our first foundational hire in the ML department. Based in our Warsaw office, you will be the primary architect of our predictive and agentic intelligence strategy. You will lead the transition from simple monitoring to autonomous resolution, ensuring our heavy industry clients mitigate the massive costs of unplanned downtime. As the department grows, you will be instrumental in building, mentoring, and leading a world-class team of ML engineers and researchers.
Key Responsibilities
Establish the ML Foundation: As the first hire, you will define the standards for our ML lifecycle, from data ingestion to edge deployment.
Lead Complex Modeling: Design and implement state-of-the-art architectures (CNN-LSTM hybrids, PINNs) to detect anomalies and predict Remaining Useful Life (RUL).
Master Signal Processing: Design pipelines for processing high-frequency sensor data (Vibration, Acoustic, Thermal) using FFT and Wavelet analysis.
Required Skills and Experience
Mathematics & Physics Foundation: Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Mathematics, Physics or Engineering. Deep proficiency in linear algebra, calculus, and stochastic processes.
Hands-on Implementation & Deployment: 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering and ML. Must have experience deploying and evaluating models in production environments.
English Proficiency: Full professional fluency in English is a mandatory requirement for technical leadership and customer-facing interactions.
Signal Processing Expertise: Mastery of vibration and acoustic analysis and feature extraction for time-series data.
Location & Availability: Ability to work in a hybrid model in Warsaw and travel to the US (ESTA eligibility required).
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications
Generative AI & LLMs: Expertise in Large Language Models and Agentic AI frameworks for multimodal data fusion.
Agentic Architectures: Experience with supervisor-agent patterns for autonomous diagnostics.
Physics-Informed Neural Networks: Experience using NVIDIA Modulus or DeepXDE to solve PDEs.
Architect Agentic AI: Experience with LLM-based agents to correlate unstructured maintenance logs with telemetry data, enabling autonomous root cause analysis.
Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to drive technical strategy and a strong desire to lead and grow a department from the ground up.
