Senior DevOps Engineer

For our client from the aviation industry – a global technology organization building and operating mission-critical data platforms used in safety and analytics environments – we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale Azure and Databricks-based solution.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate CI/CD pipelines for data workloads (Databricks notebooks, Spark jobs), containerized applications, and infrastructure

• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep/ARM) across dev, staging, and production environments

• Implement secure access controls, RBAC, secrets management (e.g. Azure Key Vault), and policy enforcement

• Support release engineering processes including blue/green or canary deployments, automated testing, and rollback strategies

• Build and enhance observability practices (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, metrics, dashboards, alerting)

• Improve platform resiliency, availability, and disaster recovery readiness

• Drive autoscaling, right-sizing, and cost optimization initiatives in Azure

• Participate in incident response, RCA, and continuous stability improvements

• Collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, product and security teams

Ideal candidate profile

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering in production environments

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure platform services

• Experience operationalizing Databricks-based environments

• Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions

• Practical expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM)

• Experience with Azure security, IAM/RBAC, and secrets management

• Solid understanding of monitoring and observability in Azure

• Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)

• Comfortable working in cross-functional, regulated, or safety-critical environments

Nice to have:

• Experience with large-scale data platforms (Spark, Delta Lake, ADLS Gen2)

• Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, AKS)

• Experience defining SLAs/SLOs and applying SRE practices

• Azure or Databricks certifications

• Previous experience in aviation or other regulated industries
