Senior Cloud Engineer (Data Integration Platform)

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our client’s global team in the life sciences sector.

You’ll be part of a core engineering unit developing a distributed platform that handles application and system integration across cloud and on-prem environments. This is a high-impact role where your designs will shape how internal and external systems communicate at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Help define the platform roadmap together with architects and derive technical requirements for new features.
• Design and implement integration capabilities on AWS and GitHub infrastructure following security, scalability, and developer experience best practices.
• Consult with software teams building on the platform, offering guidance on architecture and integration standards.
• Share and document newly developed features with the engineering community.
• Monitor platform compliance and address regulatory and security requirements.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams to troubleshoot issues and maintain smooth operations.

Ideal candidate profile

• 3–5 years of experience in AWS cloud development, especially serverless (Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
• Proficient in building infrastructure using Terraform; additional scripting skills (e.g., shell) are a plus.
• Good knowledge of distributed systems, integration patterns, and event-driven architecture.
• 2–3 years of development experience with Node.js or JavaScript (ECMAScript).
• Familiarity with GitHub ecosystem (CI/CD with GitHub Actions, managing pull requests, issues).
• Solid understanding of platform operations, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in English.
