Our client is developing a fintech platform focused on delivering cutting-edge digital banking services. This project involves maintaining and enhancing an existing Laravel-based codebase to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Laravel Developer for a part-time role (10–20+ hours per week) to join our multicultural, cross-functional team. This role focuses on maintaining and improving an existing codebase, integrating APIs, resolving technical debt, and increasing system observability.

For candidates with experience in React, this position has the potential to transition to a full-time role that includes frontend development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, debug, and enhance an existing Laravel-based codebase.

• Integrate third-party APIs and optimize API performance.

• Fix bugs and improve system stability and scalability.

• Identify and resolve technical debt, enhancing code quality and maintainability.

• Improve observability by implementing effective monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

• Collaborate with team members to prioritize platform updates and improvements.

• Optimize database queries and backend performance.

• Contribute to the CI/CD process and ensure automated testing is implemented.

For candidates with React experience, additional responsibilities may include:

• Building and maintaining frontend components for the platform.

• Collaborating with backend and design teams to deliver seamless user experiences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing web applications, with at least 3 years of expertise in Laravel.

• Proven experience in maintaining and improving existing codebases.

• Strong understanding of PHP, MVC architecture, and modern backend development patterns.

• Expertise in integrating third-party APIs.

• Familiarity with observability tools and techniques (e.g., logging, monitoring, and alerting).

• Proficiency with databases

• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on technical debt reduction and scalability.

• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.

• Experience working in multicultural teams.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with frontend technologies like React (for full-time consideration).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).

• Experience in fintech, payments, or investment platforms.

• Knowledge of unit testing and test-driven development (TDD).

• Prior work with diverse, international teams.
