About the role   We are seeking a talented Associate Engineer to join our team. You will play a pivotal role working with multiple engineering squads to design and implement integrations between cloud-based services and platforms.  

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, optimal performance, and scalability of our cloud-based Integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in Python and cloud computing.

 Responsibilities: 

 

  • Develop high quality Integration capabilities in accordance with Kingfisher standards 

  • Provide insights for improvements by collecting, analysing, and summarising development and service metrics 

  • Actively engage with the Integration Chapter to drive forward improvements in Engineering 

  • Ready to assist teams at short notice to collaborate, fix technical issues or provide expertise and guidance 

  • Keep up to date with best practice engineering tools and techniques 

  • Work as part of an agile squad delivering business value of a high, maintainable quality 

  • Root cause/systemic problem solving 

  • Assist in the on-going maintenance of Integration Platforms identifying errors or areas of improvement and implement remedial action as agreed to meet service levels 

  • Out of hours Platform support  

Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience working with Python 

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally AWS and/or GCP 

  • Exposure to cloud-hosted integration platforms or similar technologies 

  • Basic understanding of integration concepts and a desire to develop further in this area 

  • Awareness of software engineering best practices (clean code, testing, version control, etc.) 

  • Experience using tools such as Git and CI pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) 

  • Willingness to learn and grow in cloud architecture, system design, and modern integration approaches 

  • Logical and structured approach to problem solving 

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
