We are currently looking for a skilled Windows Server System Administrator to join a project for one of our clients, a major financial institution in Poland.
This role is part of the Digital Business Automation function within CTO Infrastructure and focuses on delivering database and operating system migration projects for middleware applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and configure new Windows Server 2019 infrastructure
- Migrate systems and data from legacy environments to new infrastructure
- Prepare and execute detailed pre-implementation plans for both non-production and production migrations, including rollback and post-verification strategies
- Optimize system performance before production cutover
- Collaborate with application SMEs to ensure end-to-end testing and system stability
- Maintain documentation covering migration strategies, rollback plans, and technical procedures
- Ensure compliance with all security and regulatory requirements
- Automate tasks using PowerShell and other relevant tools
Requirements:
- Proven experience with Windows Server 2016 and 2019
- Hands-on experience with operating system migrations
- Ability to write and implement detailed testing, implementation, and rollback plans
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
- Familiarity with MS SQL Server in high-availability environments (a plus)
- Understanding of system performance monitoring and optimization
- Experience with closed-source third-party products
- Knowledge of middleware technologies like IBM Liberty or WebSphere Application Server (WAS) is an advantage
