Kevin Edward is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for one of our esteemed clients in Poland. This role involves the design and development of rail seating systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in 3D modelling, 2D drafting, BOM preparation, and GD&T applications, collaborating with offshore teams and cross-functional departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop rail seating systems, ensuring compliance with rail-specific standards.
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings for machined parts, sheet metal brackets, and injection-moulded components.
- Apply DFM, DFA, and GD&T principles for manufacturability.
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (E-BOM/D-BOM) for production.
- Collaborate with offshore teams to ensure project execution and quality deliverables.
- Work on New Product Development (NPD) for rail seating components.
- Conduct quality reviews and interact with customers for technical discussions.
- Assist in manufacturing, assembly, and troubleshooting during prototype and production stages.
- Work with PLM tools and handle ECN/ECR processes efficiently.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in rail seating or automotive seating systems.
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, including Part Design, Surface Design, Assembly, Drafting, and Sheet Metal.
- Experience with PLM tools and engineering change processes (ECN/ECR).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage):
- Knowledge of rail-specific regulations and guidelines.
- Experience with railway seating manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory approvals in rail seating systems.
