Project

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join a financial project within the Home Journey – "Living" Agile Release Train. The role focuses on the end-to-end design, development, testing, and deployment of Java-based microservice applications. You will work in a dynamic Agile environment, building scalable and secure backend solutions with Java 17/21 and Spring Framework 6/7, while collaborating closely with business and technical teams to deliver high-quality software.

Responsibilities you'll have

• Participate in the design and development of backend components for home journey applications
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, expectations, and business logic
• Develop new features in backend applications using Java 17/21 and Spring Framework 6/7 (with a focus on Spring Boot 3.5–4.0)
• Conduct regular code reviews and identify opportunities for refactoring and continuous improvement
• Perform thorough testing of your applications, including unit, security, and performance tests, in close collaboration with QA, system, and engineering teams
• Use development tools such as IntelliJ IDEA, Git, Bitbucket, Linters, SonarQube, Maven, Jenkins, and Artifactory
• Contribute to the improvement of CI/CD platforms and configurations and support technical coordination of releases when required

Expected competences and knowledge

• Over 5 years of commercial experience in Java development, including hands-on work with modern versions (Java 17, 21 and above)
• Strong proficiency in Spring Framework, including Spring MVC, Boot, Security, Data, and Profile (Spring 3.x required; Spring 4.x is an advantage)
• Hands-on experience with RESTful Web Services and REST APIs
• Experience in working with event-driven architectures, particularly Apache Kafka
• Proficiency in SQL and experience managing Oracle databases
• Proven experience developing in a multi–microservice environment (approximately 100 microservices designed and implemented for specific purposes)
• Solid understanding of Design Patterns, Clean Code, and principles such as SOLID, KISS, and GRASP
• Practical experience with CI/CD tools, integrating various parts of the Java development process
• Interest in training and mentoring colleagues, especially in areas related to Pega CLM/KYC
