Project

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a team building a greenfield recommendation system. This initiative is developed from scratch, offering full ownership over architecture, data platforms, and production-grade solutions. You will collaborate closely with product teams and business stakeholders to design and deliver scalable, high-performance data systems powering real-time optimization algorithms and machine learning models. The role goes beyond prototyping — you will be responsible for building and maintaining robust, cloud-native data platforms operating at scale (billions of events daily).

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining high-availability data pipelines supporting real-time optimization
• Designing and orchestrating large-scale data processing workflows (clickstream, impressions, attribution data)
• Developing and managing dbt-based datasets for model training and experimentation, integrated with Feature Store solutions
• Architecting and maintaining production-grade infrastructure for ML model serving
• Evolving attribution modeling logic and ensuring data reliability and consistency across systems
• Building and optimizing batch and streaming pipelines processing high-volume data (billions of events per day)
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into scalable data and ML solutions

Expected competences and knowledge

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a proven track record of delivering and maintaining large-scale, production-grade data platforms
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (batch and high-volume streaming)
• Advanced knowledge of Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration
• Strong experience in designing and implementing ETL pipelines and data models across diverse data formats
• Proficiency in cloud environments and designing cloud-native architectures
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Very good communication skills in Polish and English
• Nice to Have
  • Experience with MLOps and deploying ML models at scale (e.g. Vertex AI)
  • Experience in building REST APIs for data or ML inference serving
  • Strong focus on engineering best practices (TDD, unit/integration testing for Spark/Airflow pipelines)
