Project

---

You will be responsible for planning, deploying, and configuring a backup solution for MS SQL servers using PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) to ensure backup availability, performance, integrity, and compliance with organizational policies.

 

What you will be doing

• Testing the backup solution to ensure reliability and integrity through initial and ongoing evaluations
• Collaborating with database administrators (DBAs) to understand SQL server environments and specific backup requirements
• Coordinating with IT and infrastructure teams to integrate the backup solution into the broader IT ecosystem
• Monitoring backup operations for failures or performance issues and integrating with monitoring tools for automated issue tracking and reporting
• Troubleshooting backup failures and optimizing performance based on monitoring insights
• Documenting backup configurations, workflows, and policies to ensure clear and comprehensive guidelines
• Training IT staff on effective use of PowerProtect Data Manager
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards in all backup processes
• Optimizing backup configurations for maximum performance and efficient resource utilization

 

Expected competences and knowledge

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science
• Strong knowledge of MS SQL, including administration, backup, and restore activities
• Experience with administering SQL servers
• Experience in PowerShell scripting
• Knowledge of backup solutions, specifically PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM)
• Understanding of backup schedules, retention policies, and disaster recovery strategies
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and issue-tracking systems for backup operations
• Ability to troubleshoot backup failures and optimize performance
• Strong collaboration skills to work with database administrators (DBAs) and IT teams
• Experience in documenting configurations, workflows, and policies
• Knowledge of compliance requirements related to data protection and backup solutions
• Skills in optimizing resource utilization for backup processes
