Project

Join a long-term financial services project focused on supporting and maintaining a mission-critical business application. The system plays a central role in processing financial operations, with high demands for availability, performance, and reliability. As an IT Operations Specialist, you will be part of a collaborative and experienced application management team, ensuring operational continuity and contributing to service stability and improvements.

While there is an on-call roster in place, participation is infrequent—typically not more than once per quarter, and even that is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities you'll have

  • Provide daily operational support to the team, including handling low-priority incidents and responding to inquiries addressed to our side
  • Investigate production incidents by collecting system logs from logging tools, analyzing application performance, and collaborating with infrastructure teams to identify the root cause
  • Participate in planning, rehearsal, and execution of production deployments in collaboration with the application management and project teams
  • Perform deployments, verifications, and additional support tasks to ensure a smooth and successful release
  • Continuously improve service quality through root cause analysis of incidents and by proposing preventive actions to avoid recurrence
  • Identify and suggest ways to improve efficiency and production stability
  • Engage in team discussions to improve tools, processes, and day-to-day practices.
  • Propose automation opportunities and participate in the design and development of such solutions
  • Support release planning by providing and verifying requirements from the application management side, and validating test results
  • Maintain an end-to-end understanding of system flows, going beyond the application perspective to consider the broader context of related business processes
  • Understanding E2E view of our flows, not only our application point of view but taking bigger picture of processes

Expected competences and knowledge

  • Several years of equivalent professional experience
  • A formal degree in Information Technology
  • Solid understanding of how IT systems are deployed and how monitoring and logging are utilized in managing critical production systems
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, and change management, preferably within the ITIL framework

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in the banking sector or with payment and account-related systems
  • Familiarity with infrastructure or middleware technologies used by the applications, such as WebLogic, SQL databases, Kubernetes, Kafka, IBM Message Queue, and Linux. Direct operation or maintenance of these technologies is not required, but collaboration with teams responsible for them is expected

  • ITIL
  • Kubernetes
  • Linux
