Project
You will be involved in a strategic initiative within the client’s Financial Crime Prevention (FACP) unit. The team is responsible for implementing global standards and procedures to ensure rigorous compliance across the entire organization.
FACP focuses on preventing financial crime, including anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF). The unit applies advanced Due Diligence processes and continuously enhances monitoring, detection, and risk assessment capabilities using data-driven approaches.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in strengthening analytical capabilities that support financial crime prevention across the organization.
Responsibilities you'll have
Designing and developing advanced analytical models supporting AML and financial crime detection
Performing deep data analysis to identify suspicious patterns, anomalies, and emerging risks
Enhancing Due Diligence and transaction monitoring processes using data-driven insights
Translating regulatory and compliance requirements into scalable analytical solutions
Collaborating closely with Compliance, Risk, and IT stakeholders across international teams
Supporting model validation, documentation, and audit requirements in a highly regulated environment
Monitoring model performance and driving continuous improvements
Contributing to data quality and governance initiatives within financial crime prevention
Expected competences and knowledge
Senior-level experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in the financial sector
Deep understanding of financial crime domains (AML, CTF, fraud detection, transaction monitoring)
Strong knowledge of financial crime regulatory frameworks and risk-based approaches
Advanced Python skills (data processing, statistical analysis, modeling)
Very good SQL skills for complex data extraction and transformation
Strong background in data analysis and statistical methodologies
Experience working with large-scale datasets in regulated environments
Ability to communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have: Experience in application management or supporting analytical solutions in production environments
Nice to have: Experience working in international financial institutions
