Senior Python Developer – Cybersecurity & FinTech

As a Senior Python Developer working for our client, a leading player in the banking, cybersecurity, and FinTech industries, you will be instrumental in shaping secure digital services for millions of users worldwide. Your main responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product owners and cybersecurity experts to design, develop, and deliver scalable Python-based microservices and REST APIs.

• Create and maintain data pipelines, ETL jobs, and automation tools using libraries like Pandas, Numpy, and platforms such as Airflow or Luigi.

• Build, deploy, and operate containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes within CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins or GitLab.

• Support existing services through bug fixing, troubleshooting, and writing automated tests to ensure robust and secure software.

• Participate in peer code reviews, contribute to process improvements, and mentor junior developers to uphold best practices.

• Integrate cybersecurity tools and automation to enhance vulnerability detection and security measures across the bank’s estate.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience with Python web development, especially using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

• Proven expertise in building data pipelines with Pandas, Numpy, and tools like Airflow or Luigi.

• Strong understanding of microservice architecture patterns, including CQRS, SAGA, and event sourcing.

• Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and deploying via CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid Linux sysadmin skills and familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and networking fundamentals.

• Proficiency with Git, version control strategies, and front-end basics such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

• Advanced SQL skills capable of constructing complex queries.

• A test-driven approach, with experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional tests.

• Good knowledge of agile and DevSecOps processes, with tools like Jira and Confluence.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration across global teams.

• Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong sense of ownership and continuous learning.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Cybersecurity experience, including application security testing, penetration testing, or threat detection.

• Cloud platform expertise (AWS, GCP, Azure) with tools like Terraform, Prometheus, or Anthos.

• Frontend development experience with JavaScript frameworks like React.

• Database administration skills across relational and NoSQL systems such as MSSQL, Postgres, or MongoDB.

• Experience with message queues like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
