As a Senior AI and AppSec Engineer – Cybersecurity & Cloud Integration, you will be working for our client, a global leader in financial services technology. You will play a pivotal role in driving cutting-edge security solutions that leverage AI, cloud, and application security to protect critical digital assets. Your main responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of advanced AI-driven security tooling and application security solutions within a cloud environment.
• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable microservices on GCP using Python, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct thorough code reviews ensuring high standards of security, quality, and performance across the engineering team.
• Define and implement testing strategies including unit, integration, and regression testing to uphold delivery excellence.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align security practices and integration approaches across banking systems.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, diagnose root causes, and unblock engineering efforts to ensure smooth delivery.
• Produce detailed technical documentation, architecture decisions, and operational procedures.
• Mentor engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on security tooling, cloud technologies, or cybersecurity.
• Proficiency in Python, with experience in microservice design, async programming, and frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins, and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong knowledge of secrets management tools like HashiCorp Vault and experience with containerization (Docker).
• Solid database skills, including PostgreSQL and Redis, for schema design and query optimization.
• Deep understanding of microservice architectures, resilience, and scalability.
• Experience resolving performance bottlenecks and enhancing system reliability.
• Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• Experience with security scanning tools like TruffleHog or similar.
• Knowledge of task queue frameworks such as Celery or Kafka.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Splunk or OpenTelemetry.
• Front-end experience with Vue.js, React, or TypeScript.
• Relevant certifications (GCP Professional, cybersecurity) or experience in regulated environments like financial services.
