As a Mid to Senior Network Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in telecommunications and infrastructure services. You will support both ongoing operations and a major international hardware replacement project across diverse sites in Europe and North Africa. Your expertise will directly influence the robustness and security of critical network environments, shaping the future of intercontinental connectivity and digital transformation.
Your main responsibilities:
- Lead and execute hardware replacement activities on-site, including switches, Wi-Fi access points, and security appliances.
- Manage daily RUN operations: network monitoring, incident response, and change management.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain network equipment on platforms such as Meraki, Fortinet, Check Point, and Palo Alto.
- Plan and coordinate site visits, collaborating with local teams and project managers.
- Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and wireless network issues across multiple sites.
- Produce technical documentation, including network diagrams, installation reports, and handover notes.
- Liaise with international stakeholders, vendors, and on-site teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Ensure deployments adhere to security policies and corporate standards.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or infrastructure roles.
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco Meraki, Fortinet (FortiGate), Check Point, and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience with Wi-Fi technologies — site surveys, AP deployment, troubleshooting.
- Proven track record of delivering multi-country or multi-site network projects.
- Fluent English — essential for effective international communication.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel weekly across Europe and North Africa.
- Based in Portugal or Poland.
It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)
- Relevant certifications: CCNA/CCNP, NSE (Fortinet), PCNSE (Palo Alto), or similar.
- Experience working in logistics, shipping, or large enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN and cloud-managed network architectures.
- French language skills — an advantage in the CMA CGM context.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow or equivalent).
