Java Engineer - banking 💸💥

Kraków-based opportunity with a hybrid work model (3 days/week in the office).

As a Java Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial services organization that is driving innovative technology projects to support large-scale digital transformation. You will be contributing to the design, development, and deployment of scalable applications that are powering business-critical operations. By working closely with peers in a collaborative and agile environment, you will be actively participating in every stage of the software development lifecycle, ensuring quality, stability, and performance for systems that serve millions of users worldwide.

Your main responsibilities:

• Participating in low-level design and taking ownership of partial design components

• Coding according to specifications and writing unit tests

• Conducting unit tests and documenting results

• Performing peer reviews of design, code, and test plans

• Assisting in setting up and maintaining stable SIT/UAT environments

• Supporting and fixing issues during SIT and UAT phases

• Preparing and assisting with pilot production release packages

• Providing support during pilot production release

• Delivering post-implementation support and resolving incidents

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

• Bringing 1–3 years of experience in Java, Spring, JPA, Microservices, Kubernetes, and SQL

• Demonstrating experience in designing scalable and supportable applications

• Understanding overall IT infrastructure concepts

• Being familiar with design patterns and UML

• Having knowledge of agile software development processes

• Showing strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Communicating effectively in English, both written and verbal

• Adapting quickly to fast-paced and dynamic environments

• Managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Gaining experience in the financial services or banking sector

• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Exposure to automated testing frameworks

• Knowledge of security best practices in software development
