As a Senior Automation Engineer – JavaScript & Cloud Infrastructure, you will be working for our client, a leader in global banking and markets technology. You will help build and optimize sophisticated automation solutions that power high-impact financial services, supporting HSBC’s digital transformation and innovation goals. Your main responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts utilizing JavaScript, Node.js, and cloud infrastructure to streamline banking operations.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers and product owners, to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including analysis, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

• Identify areas for automation and technical improvement, addressing tech debt while enhancing operational efficiency.

• Design solutions that adhere to technology guidelines, best practices, and accessibility standards.

• Contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines, ensuring rapid and reliable deployment.

• Support production environments by diagnosing issues and implementing timely fixes to minimize downtime.

• Share knowledge and pair with team members to elevate overall team competency and innovation.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 6 years of experience in software development, with a focus on automation or related fields.

• Demonstrable expertise in JavaScript, CSS, and Node.js (client & server-side).

• Strong understanding of accessibility (A11y) best practices and implementation.

• Practical experience working with cloud infrastructure and Unix-based systems.

• Knowledge of databases from a consumer perspective and familiarity with HTTP/RESTful APIs.

• Basic understanding of Java or Kotlin.

• Excellent communication skills in English.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• Experience with Vue.js or UX design principles.

• Certifications or experience in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Language required for the role:
Good command of English, both written and spoken.
