As an Application Support Engineer you will be assigned to our client - a renowned Investment Bank. You will be a member of the global team. You will work on MaRS (Market Risk System), which is a system responsible for calculating Value at Risk of the Bank. This value tells how much the Bank can lose during market crash, given current positions and history of price changes.
Wrocław-based opportunity with possibility to work remotely.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Proven experience in working on application support role
- Python knowledge
- Knowledge of C++ and skills to search and debug issues
- Ability to read and write database queries
- Linux experience and in writing shell scripts
- Fluent communication in speaking and writing in English
- Good communication skills
- ITIL Certificate - nice to have
Your main responsibilities:
- You will ensure the stability of MaRS (one of Market Risk application) production system
- You will diagnose and solve issues within MaRS application
- You will diagnose and solve issues with Global MaRS application L3 team
- You will analyse code and write scripts in Python and Bash
- You will plan and execute application/infrastructure releases and configuration changes
- You will closely collaborate with production and platform services teams
- You will develop, co-ordinate and promote the effective functioning of problem management activities across all of Market Risk support teams
- You will monitor and maintain production and internal environments
- You will foster good working relationships with internal teams and hosting providers
