Senior DevOps Engineer

About the project:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools. You’ll enable seamless onboarding of cloud-native applications while leading implementation efforts for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Istio Service Mesh, and Terraform modules. Your expertise will shape our cloud strategy, mentor teams, and drive innovation aligned with business objectives.

This role requires working primarily during Canadian business hours to align with team collaboration and project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Development: Architect and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, security, and cost efficiency;
• Process Improvement: Enhance DevOps methodologies through automation and continuous optimization;
• CI/CD & Tooling: Develop self-service tools to streamline cloud infrastructure and deployment processes;
• Security & Compliance: Implement cloud security best practices, managing IAM policies and encryption;
• Resource Optimization: Maximize cost efficiency in cloud resource management;
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain technical documentation and promote knowledge exchange;
• Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams;
• Technical Leadership: Define "Production Quality" standards, ensuring best practices in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in cloud computing (GCP, AWS, Azure) and Kubernetes (preferably GKE);
• Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Deployment Manager);
• Strong skills in Python, Golang, or Bash;
• Deep knowledge of Linux administration, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, L3/L7), and microservices architecture;
• Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and strategic problem-solving;
• Proficient in both spoken and written English.
