Senior FE / FS Developer

MEKO is looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Frontend / Fullstack Developer with a frontend focus to enhance our team working with digital bookings. The system is live in Sweden and Norway, with our other markets in the pipeline (Finland, Denmark, Baltics, Poland). The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded blend of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a business-oriented mindset.

The team is composed of both Swedish and Polish individuals, meaning we do not require any other languages than English (if you happen to speak Finnish, Danish, Swedish, Polish, Estonian, Latvian, or Lithuanian it is a nice bonus though!). Our current code stack is mostly C# on the backend with node (nextjs) and React on the frontend.

You: 

• Comfortable with both frontend and backend, but primary focus will be on frontend (at least initially).
• Knowledgeable around standard database/cache resources e.g., MSSQL, pg, mongodb, redis and the like. You know your way around SQL while being comfortable working with NoSQL outlines as well.
• Have experience working with cloud infrastructure (we are on Azure). Additional knowledge of infra is a plus but not a must (e.g., terraform, networking, K8S).
• No stranger to CI/CD.
• Keen on building great things and have high standards when it comes to code quality, readability and “beauty” of what you and the team produce. You tend to follow the scout principle (leave things nicer than how you found them) and enjoy pushing others to improve.
• Self-going and senior, in the sense that you are well-versed in handling technical challenges and feel motivated by having a high level of autonomy.
• Happy to coach more junior colleagues and ensure that they follow best practices.
• Have some technical degree, e.g., computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering or similar.
• Comfortable talking with non-technical people about technical topics. Well-versed in stakeholder management and no stranger to challenging the status quo.
• Experience working in an agile environment and knowledgeable about best practices is a plus

Technical expectations:

• You know typescript very well
• Solid knowledge of HTTP protocol and tangent topics (response codes, latency, caching, CORS, headers, cookies, etc.)
• Strong proficiency with modern web development fundamentals (ES6, CSS, HTML) and React (hooks, state management solutions like redux, tangent outlines such as react query)
• Basic knowledge of UX and know how to deal with responsive designs, styled components etc.
• Knowledge of server-side javascript (node, express and/or nextjs, SSR in general)
• Knowledge of frontend testing, e.g., jest, playwright
• You have knowledge of data modelling, software design and datastructures.
• You are well-versed in general RESTAPI-design and tangent technical outlines, e.g., routing, headers, proxies, CDNs and swagger. Knowledge about graphql is a plus.
• Linux experience to the extent that you feel comfortable in a shell and know about basics like pipes and standard programs (sed, grep etc).
• You have experience with docker or similar. Knowledge about k8s is a plus.
• You understand basics of API security, e.g., auth flows, secret handling, machine users, not rolling your own crypto etc.
•  You have experience and understand how to handle logging and monitoring in a smart and useful way, e.g., having worked with Application Insight, Prometheus, ELK or similar in the past.
