Insurteam is a Swiss technology start-up active in the insurance sector. Our systems automate sales and claim management for travel insurance policies, so subscribers pay only for what they need and get the best possible experience in case of problems.

Summary

We’re looking for a motivated Python/Django developer (3+ years experience), who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can work in full autonomy on tasks, keeps projects moving ahead with no or minimal supervision.

You’ll use your technical skills and AI tools to boost both the quality and speed of your work, while taking responsibility for outcomes that will help you grow within the company.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Django-based applications, with attention to performance, scalability, and security

• Help design and maintain APIs (using DRF, OAuth, JWT, etc.) in collaboration with senior engineers

• Work closely with frontend developers (and our AI swarm tools) to deliver reliable, well-documented endpoints

• Take initiative to move tasks forward - from requirements to testing and deployment - while knowing when to ask for feedback

• Step in where needed to keep systems healthy and the team unblocked

• Use Git effectively for branching, merging, and pull requests

• Stay curious about new tools and practices, including using AI to improve productivity and problem-solving

What we’re looking for

• Solid experience with Python and Django (3+ years)

• Experience building and working with RESTful APIs (DRF, authentication, serializers, viewsets)

• Understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL)

• Comfortable working in a team, contributing proactively in a remote environment

• Organized and able to make progress independently, while asking the right questions when needed

• Open to experimenting with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) as part of your daily workflow

Recruitment Process

Firstly, you will be contacted by our IT recruiter who will ask you a mixture of questions regarding your motivations, passions and the administrative stuff. The next step would be a quick 45 min follow up call with Rafal, our CTO, which will ask you some bit more technical questions. Depending on this, the next step might be a technical task, followed by the final interview with Saverio, our CEO, and Rafal – it’s a mix of technical and culture-fit questions.
