DevOps Engineer

For our client we’re looking for a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer. 

Platform Overview

• Unlocking greater reuse of libraries, services, and deployment patterns

• Enabling true continuous delivery

• Making frequent large-scale changes practical

At its core, the platform is a monorepo and the tooling that surrounds it.

• Ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the system by performing regular maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and implementing necessary updates and patches. This includes monitoring system performance, identifying potential problems, and taking proactive measures to prevent disruptions.

• Facilitate the onboarding process for new users. This involves creating and updating user guides, conducting training sessions, and providing ongoing support to ensure that new users are comfortable and proficient with the system. Additionally, gather feedback from users to improve the onboarding experience and address any concerns.

• Train other teams to run their products using the platform

• Act as a technical consultant and advocate for the platform

• Participate in the evaluation, analysis, and configuration of open source products according to company requirements

• Utilize Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality, reactive solutions, with a keen eye for scalability and reliability

• Apply fundamental skills, concepts, and practices to solve difficult assignments

• Proven experience with containerization-based technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes / GKE

• Experience with scripting (Bash)

• Proficiency in a programming language of choice (Java, C++, Python/Go)

• Familiarity with Cloud Native Applications design patterns and best practices

• Experience in Continuous Integration (e.g. Maven), Continuous Delivery (e.g. GitHub Actions / Pipelines)

• Experience in Agile and DevOps culture

• Positive attitude, attention to detail, team player, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong work ethic

• Good English communication skills

Additional

• Experience with IaaS / SaaS platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure

• Experience with Linux/Unix

• Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)

• Experience with developing Kubernetes Operators (K8S APIs, CRDs, etc.)

• Experience in exposing and consuming REST, GRPC services

• Contribution to open source projects

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Passionate about learning new technologies and improving existing systems
