SAP PP/DS Solution Business Expert

Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced SAP PP/DS expert to lead process redesign and adoption of Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling process, develop planners skills and drive change management process. This role combines deep functional as well as process SAP PP/DS expertise with consulting leadership, operating model redesign, stakeholder engagement skills within constrained program timelines.The successful candidate will shape target operating models, process, train planners,  resolve master data and configuration issues, help deliver quick wins within a 6-month window, and ensure sustainable PP/DS adoption across factories.Preferred Location: Poland (Warsaw) or Canada/Mexico.Key ResponsibilitiesSAP PP/DS Solution Leadership

• Provide deep, hands-on expertise in SAP PP/DS (Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling), including configuration awareness, planning heuristics, optimization profiles, capacity planning, pegging strategies, and detailed scheduling.

• Lead the redesign of production planning processes enabled by SAP PP/DS, ensuring alignment with operational realities across manufacturing sites.

• Translate business planning requirements into scalable PP/DS solution designs, focusing on planning outcomes and operational performance.

Operating Model Redesign

• Assess current planning processes and organizational structures to identify gaps and inefficiencies.

• Redesign current and shape the future-state Operating Model leveraging SAP PP/DS capabilities.

Master Data Strategy & Remediation

• Identify master data gaps impacting current PP/DS solution (BOMs, routings, work centers, production versions, planning parameters, etc.).

• Lead large-scale master data remediation initiatives to ensure data readiness and planning accuracy.

• Define data governance standards to sustain long-term PP/DS stability and performance.

Training & Change Management

• Design and deliver SAP PP/DS training programs tailored to various roles (e.g. planners, schedulers, and plant leadership) to drive user adoption and behavioral change.

• Develop training/enablement materials to embed new processes and effectively deliver to planners

Quick Wins & Value Acceleration

• Identify, scope, and execute high-impact Quick Wins within a 6-month transformation window.

• Prioritize initiatives based on business value, feasibility, and implementation complexity.

Stakeholder & Program Management

• Manage senior business stakeholders alongside technical delivery teams.

• Facilitate alignment between operations, IT, supply chain leadership, and system integrators.

Requirements & System Integrator Handoff

• Lead detailed requirement scoping and documentation for handoff to system integrators.

• Ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical change requests (clear functional and technical specifications)

Support Other Project Activities 

• Support SIT, UAT, and business validation activities to ensure PP/DS processes meet operational expectations.

• Ensure solution readiness prior to deployment across manufacturing sites.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience with SAP PP/DS in complex manufacturing environments.

• Practical experience resolving production planning and scheduling optimization challenges.

• Experience redesigning production planning operating models and processes enabled by SAP PP/DS.

• Ability to align technology capabilities with organizational structures and planning governance.

• Strong expertise in production master data structures and large-scale data remediation.

• Experience designing and delivering PP/DS-focused trainings.

• Excellent facilitation and communication skills.

• Ability to manage stakeholder expectations in transformation programs with tight timelines.

• Strong prioritization and execution discipline in complex, multi-site environments.

• Strong understanding of integration points with SAP ECC/S4HANA, IBP, and APO landscapes.

• Experience scoping, documenting, and structuring requirements for system integrator execution.

• Strong change management and adoption-driving capabilities across factories.

• Ability to operate independently in cooperation with cross-functional teams.
