🧭 About the Role

We’re looking for a Backend Tech Lead to take ownership of the development, integration, and maintenance of our backend ecosystem — powering mission-critical systems such as Payments & Subscriptions, User Accounts, Authentication & Authorization, and the Admin Dashboard.

This is a hybrid role combining technical leadership, hands-on backend engineering, and DevOps ownership.You’ll guide a small, high-impact team, define architectural direction, and ensure reliability and scalability across our backend services and integrations.

🧩 Your Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the backend engineering team across multiple GitHub repositories and microservices.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend components:

  • Payment & Subscription systems (Zend PHP, Phalcon PHP)

  • User Account integration (“My Account”)

  • Authentication & Authorization flows

  • Admin Dashboard (AngularJS frontend)

• Integrate and maintain payment gateways (Pay.com, Stripe, PayPal, Braintree, Cleverbridge, or others), ensuring:

  • Secure and compliant transaction processing

  • Automated subscription lifecycle (trial, upgrade, renewal, cancellation)

  • Handling of refunds, chargebacks, and failed payments

• Improve API performance, scalability, and versioning across V1 (Zend PHP) and V2 (Phalcon PHP) stacks.

• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to ensure seamless API integration and data consistency.

• Optimize MySQL 8 schema, queries, and indexes for high-traffic environments.

• Manage AWS infrastructure for backend services.

• Oversee CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and manage infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).

• Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and backend security best practices.

• Conduct code reviews, establish standards, and maintain reliability and observability.

• Languages & Frameworks: PHP (Zend, Laravel, Phalcon), AngularJS

• Database: MySQL 8

• Payment Gateways: Pay.com, Stripe, PayPal, Braintree, Cleverbridge

• Cloud & DevOps: AWS (or similar)

• CI/CD & Infrastructure: GitHub Actions, Docker, Terraform / CloudFormation

• Version Control: GitHub (multi-repository setup)

✅ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, including 2+ years in a leadership role.

• Strong expertise in PHP frameworks (Zend, Laravel, or modern equivalents).

• Proven experience integrating payment gateways and subscription systems.

• Deep understanding of REST API design, versioning, and integration with multiple frontends.

• Hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments.

• Solid database knowledge (MySQL 8, indexing, optimization, data integrity).

• Familiarity with authentication and authorization standards (OAuth2, JWT).

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
