What you’ll do
Responsible for technical execution of projects by managing project timelines, risks, and dependencies effectively, cooperating with Principal Engineer and technical leads, contributes to architecture design
Advocates for best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.
Continues improvement and innovation backed by examples
Orchestrates written down, data-driven decisions using Engineering Decisions Records (EDRs) on tech debt, tooling, and process improvements. Capable of doing trade off analysis
Team Leadership & Development demonstrates empowerment and enablement mindset, does not micromanage, builds trust, balances autonomy with accountability, Clears roadblocks for the team.
Lead, coach, and grow a team(s) of engineers through hiring, mentoring, feedback, conduct regular 1:1s and career development.
Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent
Operational Excellence: Define and improve key performance indicators to measure team and product health, strengthen product resilience and automatic recovery, champion engineering excellence through continuous improvement, automation, and efficient development processes. Optimize team workflows (Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, DevOps, implement SRE best practices).
What you need to have to succeed in this role
8+ years of software engineering experience (experience in one of the following technologies: Java, C#, Python, Golang, Rust, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, ...), with at least 3+ years managing engineering teams in big (global) organisation.
Has high level knowledge that allows to effectively collaborate with Tech Leads on subjects like: Cloud (preferably AWS), SRE / DevOps / CloudOps, System Design, System Architecture, Non-functional requirements, SLA/SLO, CI/CD, Observability, Scalability, Resilience, Microservices, Disaster recovery, Containers, Functional and Non-functional tests, Basic knowledge on Clean Code, Design Patterns, SOLID, Code Architecture and Modularization, Networking
Knows Continuous Delivery, XP (Extreme Programming), Agile (Kanban, Scrum), Lean Management, SDLC Processes.
Proven track record of delivering complex, high-scale software systems.
Experience mentoring and growing engineering talent, including senior engineers and tech leads.
Knowledge of latest technology trends and concepts
Excellent communication skills with ability to work across disciplines and influence stakeholders.
Experienced in making technical and strategic decisions, improving KPI and DORA metrics
