Enterprise Technology brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC including anti- money laundering, transaction monitoring, screening, risk assessment etc. and is dedicated to implement the most effective global standards to combat financial crime.
The Global Social Network Analytics (GSNA) platform uses Big Data technology together with AI and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to identify potential financial crime risks that enable a global network of Investigators, Intelligence Analysts and Data Scientists to conduct effective intelligence-based investigations.
We are currently looking for Scala Big Data Engineer. This role is based at our Global Technology Centre in Krakow.
The team is made up of 10 scrum teams based across China, India, Poland and the UK. We run Agile Scrum with 2-week sprints, and releases every 6 weeks. Our Technology stack is a mix of Scala, Spark, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, with a move to GCP Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins CICD DevOps
What you’ll do
As a Scala Big Data Engineer, you’ll be working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) creating pipelines though Spark Shell analysing data in one of the biggest Datalakes in the world and using AirFlow to validate tests that you write. We work to promote the agile culture in a strongly regulated industry, so it’s expected from you to challenge the way things are done whilst following the current rules accurately.
Required skills:
Knowledge of Scala Spark
Ability to manage branches and resolve merge conflicts
Fluent English
Nice to have:
Experience with
Jira and Confluence
GCP, and Apache Airflow
JUnit, TDD, BDD
Jenkins
Clean code, SOLID, KISS, DRY, design patterns
Elasticsearch
Experience in at least one of the large Cloud providers (Azure, AWS)
Pervious Secure Code Warrior certifications
Experience working within Scrum framework
Commercial experience is a plus, but not mandatory
