The Enabler Platforms supports global and market value streams by providing foundational and sustainable capabilities for use across all WPB businesses, geographies, and customers. This function is responsible for the digital mobile and online experiences; using digital messaging to enhance our customer relationships; building and improving the underlying technology and security platforms; and innovating our propositions to compete effectively in a mobile, data-driven world.
We are looking for an experienced Platform Architect to support and grow our Digital Platforms. The individual needs to interact with senior stakeholders in the organisation and lead the definition of platform strategy and roadmap. Domain and industry knowledge in Mobile technologies and architecture is required.
What you’ll do
- Engage with primary stakeholders to influence strategic investment decisions and technology outcomes of the Mobile Platform and other enterprise-wide solution designs.
- Play a critical role in collaborating with various Agile teams validating the impacts and technology assumptions, elaborating current and target state architectures, evaluating implementation options and recommendation.
- Maintain the business and technology capability view for the Mobile platform.
- Define the end-to-end solution design, related to Mobile product and features, in a way that supports the execution of the WPB technology strategy and roadmap, articulating and addressing associated architectural risks, issues and technical debt.
- Support the development of strategic technology roadmaps that meets short term business development plan and pave way to support medium to long term vision as well as the architectural governance processes, reviewing the architecture according to Wealth and Personal Banking Governance standards and processes ensuring adherence to Decision Driven Design, Solution Architecture Policy and promoting re-use and reduction of technical debt.
- Participate in vendor products selection process by providing technology views with considerations to group and platform strategies, existing technology estate and cost.
- Participate to the definition of the future state architecture and roadmap.
- Participate in proof-of-concept work around Mobile technologies/features.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Ability to translate business requirements into the high-level architectures, across value streams and markets. Understanding the impacts, optionality and ensuring the products and services meet the customer needs and expected business outcomes.
- Experience in developing high level technology roadmaps, with the ability to influence the prioritisation and investment as part of the quarterly and yearly planning.
- Experience in elaborating solution designs at various levels with the ability to understand interdependencies across business lines and breakdown non-functional requirements into application, infrastructure, security, cloud, and data designs.
- Ability to collaborate with the business, technology teams and engineers to ensure solutions adhere to principles and strategic direction.
- Comprehensive understanding of Mobile technologies and architecture as well as industry trends.
- Accountability for significant architectural decisions and provide justification for decisions taken.
- Excellent leadership, engagement, and communications skills, with demonstrable experience in setting stretching objectives; building effective networks both internally and externally; delivering clear decisions and direction.
- Knowledge of: Integration concepts, techniques, and patterns; Security concepts and design; Data domain Architecture concepts, techniques; Event-driven architecture concepts; Native mobile coding skills.
