We work in partnership with the Infrastructure Architecture Function to set the vision and roadmap for all technologies across CTO and to deliver Service designs in support of business IT programmes. 

We are seeking an experienced Storage Specialist to join our Storage team. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, implementing and maintaining storage solutions including troubleshooting and root cause analysis. We work in an international team. 

What you’ll do

• Administration and support of storage & backup-related systems, including Fiber Channel SAN, Block & Archive Storage, Backup Infrastructure, and Network Attached Storage (NAS).

• Planning and execution of maintenance and evergreening activities to ensure system reliability and long-term sustainability.

• Manage and optimize system performance and capacity to ensure efficient resource utilization and meet evolving business and project demands.

• Continuously develop, implement and monitor backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

• Oversee troubleshooting activities and manage vendor relationship to resolve environmental and functional alerts and incidents efficiently. 

• Oversee incident & problem management, the implementing of permanent solutions, and production support.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to support team operations and enhance job performance.

• Develop automation capabilities to reduce infrastructure complexity and manual effort.

• Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders and IT teams.

• Remediation of Security vulnerabilities to enhance organizational risk posture and ensure compliance with industry standards.

• Serve on a On-call 24/7 rotation, providing critical support and rapid response.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Strong experience with at least 2 of the following categories and the associated management software:  

  • Backup: Cohesity NetBackup, Cohesity NBU Appliances, Dell/EMC Data Domain 

  • Archive: Dell/EMC ECS, Veritas Enterprise Vault 

  • NAS: NetApp (FAS / CDOT / Metro Cluster) 

  • Storage/SAN: Dell/EMC PMAX, Pure Storage and Brocade SAN

• Knowledge and awareness of security principles, compliance requirements and vulnerability management

• Experience working with DevOps tools like GitHub, Jira, Confluence 

• Strong problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills 

• Experience with common scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python

• Good working skills with operating systems like Linux (RedHat) and Windows

• Proficiency in English is required

Nice to have

• Experience working within large-scale enterprise IT environment 

• Experience with operational management according to ITIL, agile working and project management 

• German language skills are considered an asset
