U.S IT Architecture within IT Architecture supports business systems and technology functions by developing enterprise architecture capabilities, design governance and focusing on appropriate alignment between business and Information Technology strategy, to ensure efficiency of investments for the U.S Bank. This role will support the initiatives within U.S IT Architecture focusing on establishing and embedding design governance across the organization and promoting Agile and DevOps ways of working. It includes creating a sustainable support for the key design decisions and the overall design and implementation of the projects.
You will work with technology and business partners around the world to understand their needs - then create and build the right solution. Using consistent service patterns, you’ll make a global deployment look easy. With a focus on the future, you will also keep things simple to support and enhance ongoing.
What you’ll do
- Support US Regional Chief Architect with defining, maintaining, and owning the enterprise architecture blueprints, ensuring alignment to HSBC Technology strategies and providing overarching Design Authority accountability for major change and initiatives across the Region.
- Work closely with GBGF architects, globally and regionally to develop the Country and Regional roadmaps and plans for successive transformation.
- Consulting on new best practices, processes, operating model, techniques, products, services, technologies, and standards where needed against identified use cases via the appropriate governance bodies.
- Manage and govern HSBC US Business service offerings acting as the liaison between all stakeholders responsible for delivery of solutions using Agile method.
- Stay abreast of technology trends and advise business/CIO/CTOs/Chief Architect and the business about potential benefits/impacts.
- Support the Innovation and technology (AI/ML, Cloud, API, etc.) Community of Practices adoption and leading the architecture community in United States by example.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external technology standards and regulatory obligations.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- University graduate of Computer Science/IT-related field (preferred but not necessary), preferably with major in Software/System engineering or relevant working experience in the field.
- Seasoned in building architecture blueprints and roadmaps on various detail levels proven by long Enterprise Architect experience.
- Experience in digital and broader architectural transformations, applying solutions from experience in decomposing monolithic solutions and methods to manage technical debt.
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of enterprise-level software development and API based integration, building scaled solutions with the consideration of quality attributes.
- Capability to influence and champion new ideas and technical direction within the organization.
- Accustomed to managing a high level of ambiguity across geographies, markets, products, and services and delivering clear decisions and direction.
- Good stakeholder management level, with the capability of delivering highly effective cross-functional leadership across diverse populations, regions, and domains, building effective stakeholder relationships; As well as the ability to translate strategies, plans, methods and tools and operational plans globally.
- Excellent Leadership and Teamwork skills - the ability to educate, inspire, motivate, and mentor teams, creating a sense of community amongst the disparate members of the technical areas, persuading and negotiating skills.
