Join HSBC Technology's Collaboration Services team as a DevOps Engineer, where you'll contribute to building innovative solutions that connect internal technology customers with best-in-class tools. This role involves delivering and supporting products across the entire software delivery lifecycle, from inception to ongoing management, while continually enhancing your skills in infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, security, testing, and operational support. You'll also work on an engineer-led solution designed to unify various HSBC systems, enabling seamless organizational structure discovery and efficient search across people, applications, and data from a single, user-friendly platform.

What you’ll do

• Continuously improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines to effectively automate deployment processes  
• Provision and maintain secure Google Cloud  
• Use container technologies (e.g., Docker) to package and deploy system components  
• Automate infrastructure and application maintenance tasks  
• Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, and the wider organization to smooth the process of building and running applications, participate in software architecture design 
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using .NET, implement solutions according to best Design Patterns  
• Analyse requirements to fully understand solutions and recommend improvements  
• Keep up with changes and trends in the industry  

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• At least 7 years of professional experience in similar role
• C#, Web API, Database design and SQL skills with SQL Server, including T-SQL
• Good working knowledge of cloud technologies, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills and experience working in a technical support / network support role
• Experience building out CI toolchains using Jenkins CI/CD
• A background in Systems Administration across Linux platforms, with strong scripting skills in Bash and PowerShell
• Proficiency in modern scripting languages, particularly Python
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
