The Data and Analytics Office (DAO) team is hiring an AI orientated Data Scientist in its Data Product team to support a range DAO Products.
DAO was established to transform HSBC into a truly data-driven organisation by ensuring that every design decision has a built-in data consideration. DAO provides a set of capabilities which requires products to be constructed with data quality as the foundation for these services. There are 10+ DAO Products which are established and you, as a Data Scientist, will provide cross-product support.
The Data Scientist will primarily support the Protect and Unlock pillars of the DAO strategy. The role will be responsible for identifying opportunities to deploy AI to improve existing functionality, and to provide new capabilities
What you’ll do
- Work with Product Owners to identify opportunities for deploying AI.
- Work with Office of Open AI (OOAI) to ensure DAO complies with policies and standards.
- Undertake detailed data analysis to gain full understanding of products.
- Work with Product SMEs to create and test Agents.
- Work with Solution Architects to ensure architecture/infrastructure optimised for AI.
- Work with Tech teams to integrate and test AI with existing solutions.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- 3 years of experience as an AI Data Scientist on complex projects and demonstrable experience working in an Agile environment.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and derive insights from complex data sets.
- Understanding of AI and machine learning algorithms, including knowledge of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning, as well as neural networks and natural language processing.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, Java + SQL for database management and manipulation.
- Understanding of data architecture principles to design and implement effective data systems.
- Ability to identify problems and come up with effective solutions and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders as well as to manage and utilize metadata effectively as well as ability to design and implement effective prompts that guide the AI in generating desired outputs.
- Proficiency in designing AI agents with the ability to interact effectively with humans or other AI agents and in assessing the performance of AI models and systems, using both quantitative metrics and qualitative analysis.
- Ability to identify and correct issues in AI models and systems as well as to integrate AI models and systems into larger systems or workflows.
