🎯 The project

We’re looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join a team supporting our client — a leading player in the automotive industry, currently driving a large-scale initiative to build a unified data platform that will shape how connected vehicle data is used across Europe.

The goal is to create a modern, scalable platform (built on Databricks on AWS) that consolidates client's vehicle data from multiple sources into one ecosystem, enabling analytics, AI/ML innovation, and data-driven decision-making.

You’ll be part of an international team working with data mesh and lakehouse principles, helping design, develop, and maintain a platform that ensures data quality, security, and interoperability — while unlocking new business value for the client’s connected vehicle services.

What you’ll do:

• Configure and administer the Databricks data platform on AWS using Terraform, ensuring smooth setup, deployment, and operation.

• Be part of the core team designing and maintaining the data architecture and platform structure.

• Build and optimize data ingestion pipelines from diverse vehicle data sources.

• Design and implement ETL/ELT workflows, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability end to end.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust data models and solutions.

• Monitor and troubleshoot platform performance, ensuring high availability and secure operations.

• Apply CI/CD best practices for data products and maintain clear documentation of your work.

• Support and mentor team members, contributing to a culture of learning and excellence.

You might be the perfect match if you possess the following competencies:

• 4+ years of previous commercial experience as Data Platform Engineer

• Solid hands-on experience deploying and operating data platforms (preferably Databricks) on AWS or Azure.

• Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and Terraform.

• Strong background in data pipeline development, ETL/ELT, and data orchestration frameworks.

• Understanding of data lakehouse and data mesh concepts.

• Comfortable working with CI/CD, version control (Git), and Infrastructure-as-Code.

• Strong English communication skills

• A collaborative, proactive attitude — you enjoy solving complex data challenges as part of a cross-functional team.
