Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Platform Team)

We are seeking an experienced and communicative Senior Embedded Software Engineer with strong OpenWRT expertise to join our Platform Team, driving the development and maintenance of our OpenWRT-based SDK for Residential Gateways. Extensive, hands-on experience with OpenWRT is absolutely essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independent development and advanced customization of the OpenWRT-based SDK;

• Design, implementation, and troubleshooting of bootloaders and secure boot processes within OpenWRT environments;

• Managing flash layouts, partitioning schemes, and firmware upgrade mechanisms tailored for OpenWRT-based platforms;

• Integration and development of device drivers for networking and peripheral interfaces on OpenWRT;

• Implementation of robust OTA (Over-The-Air) update strategies for OpenWRT;

• Secure, resilient, and maintainable firmware development;

• Close collaboration with hardware, system test, and higher-layer software teams.

  
  

We offer a choice of employment form:

B2B or Employment Contract:

• UoP: 17 000 – 20 000 PLN gross/month

• B2B: 130 – 150 PLN net/hour + VAT

  
  

You might be the perfect match if you:

• Have at least 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development;

• Are truly proficient with OpenWRT, not just familiar — you have direct, demonstrable experience designing, building, and customizing solutions based on OpenWRT;

• Possess solid C programming skills for embedded systems;

• Understand Linux system internals and embedded security concepts;

• Know bootloaders (such as U-Boot), secure boot, and firmware upgrade mechanisms (including A/B upgrades and recovery modes);

• Can independently develop device drivers and handle hardware bring-up;

• Use debugging tools (JTAG, serial consoles, gdb) and hardware interfaces effectively;

• Communicate clearly and work well in a team;

• Are fluent in English at a C1 level.

  
  

Nice to Have:

• Experience with ARM-based SoCs (Qualcomm, MediaTek, Airoha, etc.);

• Understanding of flashing and testing in manufacturing;

• Familiarity with Yocto Project, Buildroot, or other embedded build systems.
