Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Platform Team)

We are looking for experienced and communicative Embedded Software Engineer to join our Platform Team, specializing in the development and maintenance of our OpenWRT-based SDK for Residential Gateways. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of experts, designing and implementing foundational components critical to device operation and management.

Key responsibilities:

• Development and customization of the OpenWRT-based SDK;
• Design, implementation, and debugging of bootloaders and secure boot processes;
• Managing flash layouts, partitioning schemes, and firmware upgrade mechanisms;
• Integration and development of device drivers for networking and peripheral interfaces;
• Implementation of firmware management strategies, including robust OTA (Over-The-Air) updates;
• Development with a focus on security, resilience, and long-term maintainability;
• Close collaboration with hardware, system test, and higher-layer software teams;

We offer a choice of employment form:

• UoP: 17 000 – 20 000 PLN gross/month;
• B2B: 130 – 150 PLN net/hour + VAT;

You might be the perfect match if you have:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development;
• Strong proficiency in C programming for embedded systems;
• Hands-on experience with OpenWRT and Linux system internals;
• Deep understanding of bootloaders (e.g., U-Boot) and secure boot technologies;
• Experience with firmware upgrade mechanisms (dual partitioning, A/B upgrades, recovery modes);
• Expertise in device driver development and hardware bring-up;
• Good grasp of embedded security concepts (e.g., secure storage, trusted boot chains);
• Familiarity with debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, serial consoles, gdb) and hardware interfaces;
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, collaborative attitude;
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently;
• Fluency in English at C1 level (both spoken and written).

Nice to have:

• Experience with ARM-based SoCs (Qualcomm, MediaTek, Airoha, etc.);
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for flashing and testing;
• Exposure to Yocto Project, Buildroot, or other embedded build systems (in addition to OpenWRT).
