We are looking for experienced and communicative Embedded Software Engineer to join our Platform Team, specializing in the development and maintenance of our OpenWRT-based SDK for Residential Gateways. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of experts, designing and implementing foundational components critical to device operation and management.
Key responsibilities:
- Development and customization of the OpenWRT-based SDK;
- Design, implementation, and debugging of bootloaders and secure boot processes;
- Managing flash layouts, partitioning schemes, and firmware upgrade mechanisms;
- Integration and development of device drivers for networking and peripheral interfaces;
- Implementation of firmware management strategies, including robust OTA (Over-The-Air) updates;
- Development with a focus on security, resilience, and long-term maintainability;
- Close collaboration with hardware, system test, and higher-layer software teams;
We offer a choice of employment form:

UoP: 17 000 – 20 000 PLN gross/month;

B2B: 130 – 150 PLN net/hour + VAT;
You might be the perfect match if you have:
-
At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development;
- Strong proficiency in C programming for embedded systems;
- Hands-on experience with OpenWRT and Linux system internals;
- Deep understanding of bootloaders (e.g., U-Boot) and secure boot technologies;
- Experience with firmware upgrade mechanisms (dual partitioning, A/B upgrades, recovery modes);
- Expertise in device driver development and hardware bring-up;
- Good grasp of embedded security concepts (e.g., secure storage, trusted boot chains);
- Familiarity with debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, serial consoles, gdb) and hardware interfaces;

Excellent communication skills and a friendly, collaborative attitude;
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently;
- Fluency in English at C1 level (both spoken and written).
Nice to have:
- Experience with ARM-based SoCs (Qualcomm, MediaTek, Airoha, etc.);
- Understanding of manufacturing processes for flashing and testing;
- Exposure to Yocto Project, Buildroot, or other embedded build systems (in addition to OpenWRT).
