Our stack & domain
We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to coordinate one of our squads in Pre‑Trade, New Dealing Journeys, or Trade Execution, depending on your experience and team fit. Each squad plays a key role in delivering functionality that matters to clients - from enabling informed investment choices, to streamlining order placement, to ensuring fast and reliable trade execution. Squad assignment will be based on experience and team fit. All squads operate in a dynamic, product-centric environment focused on delivery excellence.
You’ll work with teams using Java (Spring Boot), React and React Native hosted on AWS in distributed, high‑availability systems. We value engineering managers who foster ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement, and who help their teams navigate complex technical and product challenges with clarity and purpose.
What you’ll do -role impact
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead across four core areas: people, delivery, technical decision‑making, and strategic alignment. You will act as a bridge between engineering and business, ensuring that technical decisions support the product direction and client goals. You won’t write code day‑to‑day, but a strong technical background is essential to understand the systems you own and guide your team effectively.
Co‑own the product roadmap with your Product Manager: define outcomes, slice scope effectively, and make data‑informed trade‑offs across value, effort and risk.
Driving technical decision-making, setting best practices, reviewing code/architecture, and collaborating on product specifications.
Forecast delivery using capacity and flow metrics; communicate realistic timelines and risks early.
Set engineering guard‑rails (scope, quality, NFRs, best practices) and empower the team to design the best solutions within them.
Champion observability and operational excellence, ensuring SLOs, alerting and production health are visible and actively managed.
Partner with tech leads and architects on system design and evolution; bring structured thinking to complex, distributed environments.
Support a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement, helping your team navigate complex technical and product challenges with clarity and purpose.
Grow people and teams: set goals, provide actionable feedback, recognise achievements, hire talent, and support autonomy, mastery and purpose.
Remove blockers, align cross‑functionally, and maintain a predictable and healthy shipping cadence.
What you bring
Strong engineering background and the ability to discuss architecture, design patterns, non‑functional requirements and technical trade‑offs, essential for leading engineering teams effectively.
Proven experience leading software engineering teams in complex, regulated or high‑scale environments.
The ability to bridge engineering, product, and business needs, partnering closely with Product Managers and stakeholders.
Clear communication, structured thinking and evidence‑based decision‑making.
Excellent stakeholder and delivery management skills.
