Position Overview:

For one of our partners, we are seeking a AI Python MCP Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing and building new layer of AI enablement—accelerating innovation. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and experience to contribute to the success of our partner organization.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and Security to define the end-to-end solution for MCP-based exposure of Vonage APIs

• Design, build, test, and deploy MCP servers and supporting services in Python (and other languages as needed)

• Integrate LLMs, AI agents, and tool orchestration frameworks with Vonage’s communications capabilities

• Implement strong security, authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and auditability patterns for AI-driven execution

• Establish robust testing strategies: unit, contract, integration, load, and chaos tests

What you'll bring

• Excellent software engineering skills in Python

• Experience designing, building, and operating cloud services on AWS

• Strong understanding of AI concepts: LLMs, prompt orchestration, tool calling, retrieval augmentation, agent frameworks

• Working knowledge of (or strong interest in) MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and emerging AI interoperability standards

• Deep focus on software security: threat modeling, least privilege, secrets management, secure API design, supply chain considerations

• A test-first mindset: unit, integration, contract, and automation testing at scale

• Ability to learn and apply multiple languages or stacks pragmatically (e.g., TypeScript, Go, Java)

• Entrepreneurial mindset: bias for action, ownership, iterative delivery, outcome focus
