Mid Data Engineer

Hays is currently recruiting for a global organization in the digital transformation and cloud space. We are looking for experienced Data / AI Engineers (Senior / Lead level) to join a growing Data & AI team supporting large-scale, international projects built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), for a globally recognized, prestigious retail organization.

This role offers the opportunity to work on data platform operations, pipeline development, and AI-related initiatives, helping clients turn data into meaningful business value.

• 16.000 - 22.000PLN gross monthly

Responsibilities

Work as part of a Data & AI team, supporting data operations and platform initiatives

Design, build and maintain data pipelines, transformations, and models

Monitor, troubleshoot and improve data quality and observability

Support deployment, incident resolution and pipeline reliability

Contribute to delivering data-driven insights and solutions tailored to business needs

Mentor junior team members (for senior/lead roles)

Note: The role includes on-call duty, including occasional evenings or weekends (extra paid)

Requirements

Experience in data engineering with Python and SQL

Hands-on knowledge of GCP data services

Good understanding of dbt and data modelling concepts

Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouse design

Experience with orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Dagster)

Exposure to ingestion tools (e.g. Fivetran, Airbyte)

Basic knowledge of Go (nice to have)

Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools

Exposure to Vertex AI / Dataiku is a plus

Knowledge of Spark / Hadoop ecosystem is an advantage

Understanding of Agile and ITIL practices

Fluent English
