Senior Staff Engineer
Seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to build and lead a new International team focused on Repayments. This role involves developing tools and systems that enhance loan repayment convenience. The team owns the end-to-end repayments consumer experience, including the mobile app’s “Manage” tab, Collections, Recoveries, and the Comms Platform for borrower and merchant communications.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in managing teams, delivering complex technical roadmaps, and navigating ambiguity. Responsibilities include defining scalable architectures, driving execution, and balancing strategic vision with immediate business and technology needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers and managers, fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture.
- Oversee the International Repayments area, ensuring seamless loan repayments, communication systems, and international expansion.
- Build scalable, reliable repayment systems to support global growth.
- Drive business and engineering metrics, prioritizing reliability, security, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with tech leads, program managers, and product managers on architecture, security, and delivery.
- Manage managers across multiple departments (e.g., backend, frontend), ensuring alignment and execution of technical strategy.
- Define and implement multi-year roadmaps for frameworks, services, and tools.
- Mentor engineers and managers while actively recruiting and fostering professional growth.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience managing and delivering large-scale technical programs.
- 2+ years of experience leading teams, including managing multiple teams simultaneously (e.g., backend & frontend/Legal & Cybersecurity).
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven track record in delivering mission-critical systems at scale.
- Excellent communication, mentorship, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluent in English (C1)
