The solution is being developed with a focus on scalability, observability, and HIPAA/PHI compliance; supporting mission-critical healthcare workflows.
As a Manual QA Engineer, you’ll ensure the quality and reliability of the new integration platform that connects pharmacy systems with partner APIs. You’ll validate end-to-end order and fulfillment workflows, confirm API behavior, and ensure that all edge cases, error handling, and event-driven flows perform as expected in real-world conditions.
Responsibilities
Design and execute manual test cases for REST APIs, webhooks, and data integrations.
Validate end-to-end prescription order flows across multiple systems.
Verify data integrity between source and partner APIs.
Test authentication, webhook security (HMAC), and error handling scenarios.
Document and reproduce defects clearly for engineering teams.
Collaborate with engineers and the Business Analyst to ensure requirements are testable and complete.
Support sandbox and partner UAT by preparing test data and validating real-world integration scenarios.
Contribute to improving QA processes and regression test coverage across API releases.
Skills and requirements
3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer in backend or integration-heavy environments.
Strong understanding of API testing, request/response validation, and data-driven test design.
Hands-on experience with tools like Postman, Swagger, or Insomnia.
Ability to design test matrices and data validation scenarios for event-based workflows.
Experience testing integrations involving authentication (OAuth2, tokens, or signatures).
Understanding of Agile delivery processes and defect lifecycle management in Jira.
Nice to have
Familiarity with SQL, JSON, and log-based debugging;
Healthcare or fintech background is a plus (HIPAA/PHI or compliance-driven testing experience).
Experience testing integrations based on FHIR or HL7 standards (validating healthcare data structures and interoperability).
Experience with the honeybee (pharmacy) API.
