Job description
Creative Technologists at Gorilla are driven to push themselves and grow quickly; they are ready to push boundaries as they deliver amazing work. Creative Technologists need to be able to move from one project to the next without missing a beat - designing in code, creating functional prototypes, and developing solutions for a wide range of commerce needs. The ability to contribute ideas and execute the ideas of others quickly and competently is essential.
Required Skills:
- Solid portfolio of designed and developed projects
- Understanding of front-end technologies - HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Understanding of responsive design and the knowledge to build experiences that span mobile and desktop
- Knowledge of the requirements for developing prototypes and creating digital experiences for the web
- Ability to effectively present ideas to both technical and non-technical individuals
- Ability to work independently as well as flawlessly execute the ideas of others
- Experience with source control (SVN/GIT) and bug tracking systems
- Passionate about learning new things in the creative and technology spaces
- Can build end-to-end front end solution via Vanilla JS, without using a frameworks such as bootstrap
Technical Expertise:
- Experience leveraging reusable code
- Experience leveraging CSS and Javascript to create mobile experiences
- Understanding of digital media for the web such as video, audio, and interactive
- Experience leveraging CSS3 transitions and animations
- Experience using CSS Preprocessors
- An understanding of prototyping techniques and creating proofs of concept
- An understanding of usability and a/b testing
- Understanding of email marketing and development
- Understanding of accessibility for the web and how to use design and technology to create experiences which are accessible to users with disabilities.
- Knowledge of SEO and best practices
