    Job description

    About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

    Responsibilities

    • Work cross-functionally to define the next generation of product features and use-cases working with cross-functional hardware/software teams, product management teams, across geographies. Form virtual teams to focus on delivery of required use cases.
    • Own planning and scheduling for major/minor milestones considering the overall project deliverables, triaging and prioritizing features and bugs, getting cross-functional support and escalating as required.
    • Liaise on technical as well as data analysis of issues. Recommend a way forward, representing the team in cross-functional and leadership forums.
    • Focus on the user experience and advocate the quality bar internally, as well as with external partners to ensure we maintain a great product.
    • Seek out all necessary schedule inputs and develop a solid, defensible plan for software development release and keep the team tracking to it.

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 2 years of experience managing projects.
    • Experience working with mobile technologies or software hardware integration (operating systems, applications, frameworks or devices).

    Preferred qualifications:

    • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
    • Experience program managing products or features through the software development life cycle and commercializing technical product launches.
    • Experience with program management for complex projects that span multiple teams in geographically disparate locations.
    • Experience with security for physical devices (e.g., mobile phones, vehicles).
    • Excellent organizational skills with ability to develop detailed project plans and see them through completion.
    • Attention to detail and end to end quality.

    Benefits:

    • Health and Wellbeing (Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents)
    • Financial wellbeing (Competitive compensation, regular bonus and equity refresh opportunities)
    • Flexibility and time off (Paid time off, including vacation, bereavement, jury duty, sick leave, parental leave, disability, and holidays)
    • Family support and care (Fertility and growing family support, parental leave and baby bonding leave)
    • Community and personal development (Educational reimbursement)
    • Googley extras (Inspiring spaces to work, recharge, and collaborate with fellow Googlers)
