Software Engineer III, Full Stack, Applied AI

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• 2 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:

• 2 years of experience building developer tools (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
• Experience using data science or statistical methods to derive insights and solve problems.
• Experience with Android or Chrome development workflows.
• Experience working across the Git ecosystem internally (Gerrit/GoB).
• Experience working on open source projects and in open source ecosystems (GitHub).
• Experience with AI/ML powered feature development and productization.

In this role, you will be driving efforts to radically improve productivity of developers working on Android, Chromium, ChromeOS based workflows, using AI technologies, partnering with CoreDev AI and DeepMind teams. Our team is looking to use AI to speed up code generation, accelerate Code Review, and reduce our costs on testing and trialing.

Responsibilities

• Build Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) solutions and tools into development workflows and platforms.
• Evaluate AI models by designing and utilizing custom evaluation sets focused on quality, coherence, and safety assessment.
• Develop and integrate UI components to surface AI insights and suggestions within developer tools.
• Work with data pipelines to collect, process, and analyse data for model evaluation and metric tracking.
• Contribute to the development of tools and infrastructure that lower the barrier to entry for AI/ML development within the organisation.
