Frontkom
Frontkom is a Norwegian digital agency that empowers businesses and impactful organizations to discover and leverage digital opportunities. We drive digital innovation across education, NGOs, and commercial sectors by combining technology and strategy to foster growth, innovation, and meaningful change. Our team of over 70 specialists works collaboratively across offices in Warsaw, Oslo, Fredrikstad, Trondheim, and Funchal. Committed to the free and open web, we help our global clients achieve their goals while creating an environment where our team members can grow and make a real impact.
We are looking for a Technical Tester to join our team and help ensure the quality and reliability of our digital products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing and leading QA work, experience working with delivery teams to compose test strategies, and the ability to lead and report on QA work done on projects.
This role requires a consultant mindset - someone who is not simply waiting for tasks, but who actively seeks out problems, proposes solutions, and contributes to the overall structure and efficiency of testing processes. You will occasionally communicate directly with clients, helping them understand the value of testing, walking them through test plans, and advocating for quality in their products.
Excellent communication skills in English are required, and familiarity with Norwegian is a plus.
- Perform automated and manual testing to ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with project teams (developers and project managers) to ensure we have the right focus on types of testing, test coverage and methodology.
- Ensure project development incorporates test and QA strategies at the right time, in the right order.
- Oversee and document QA processes for project development and maintenance projects.
- Help grow test culture in the company.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders on documentation on how to utilize automated tests, QA and test design in projects throughout the company.
- Debug and troubleshoot test failures to improve test stability and efficiency.
- Ensure best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
- Report and document test results, working closely with developers and stakeholders.
- Adopt a proactive, consultant-oriented approach to QA work - identify gaps, propose improvements, and take initiative.
- Communicate with clients to explain test strategies and the importance of QA, tailoring explanations to various stakeholder needs.
- Propose structure and improvements in testing processes and advocate for high-quality standards across teams.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in QA and testing.
- Solid understanding and application of BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) and TDD (Test-Driven Development) methodologies.
- Experience with ISTQB testing principles and methodologies.
- Ability to debug automation scripts, identify root causes, and troubleshoot test failures efficiently.
- Understanding of common security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top Ten) and the ability to incorporate basic security testing into automation processes.
- Fluency in English (C1/C2 level), both spoken and written.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently, propose testing strategies, and improve QA processes without being task-driven.
- Comfortable explaining test plans, quality standards, and QA processes to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Previous client-facing experience, especially participating in or leading client meetings to explain QA approaches and advocate for quality practices.
- ISTQB certification.
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions for automated tests.
- Experience with test frameworks such as Behat, PHPUnit, Gherkin, Cucumber, or Cypress.
- Experience with relevant technologies and CMS frameworks (Symfony, React, Drupal, Next.js, Laravel, WordPress).
- Background as a developer, with an understanding of the software delivery lifecycle.
- Located in Warsaw or open to joining our Warsaw office regularly.
- Proficiency in Norwegian is a plus.
