Software Engineer (cloud)

Fibertide employs engineers with strong mathematical and computer science backgrounds. We design, maintain and develop large-scale cloud systems for companies from the U.S. and Europe. Our customers include both ambitious startups and established businesses that require assistance improving their technologies for large userbases, big datasets and rapid growth.

• implementing cloud-based infrastructure for complex, large-scale systems,

• developing specialized data-processing software and ML-based systems,

• advising our customers and their development teams on cloud-native solutions and developing in-house utilities for managing cloud systems,

• providing technical and business guidance within projects, taking care of the cooperation with any given client,

We expect that you...

• have at least 3 years of professional experience with complex software design, development and engineering,

• will impress us with your programming skills and domain understanding, regardless of the choice of technology,

• are familiar with cloud infrastructure concepts and best practices, AWS and GCP services, and Infrastructure as Code paradigm,

• feel an urge to stay up-to-date with the newest cloud trends, and can learn new tools and technologies very quickly,

• are proficient in maths and theoretical computer science, and practical aspects of advanced algorithms,

• are deeply familiar and experienced with software optimization, networking concepts, operating systems, low-level optimization,

• have great communication skills and can represent the company before our partners,

• can or are willing to learn how to lead a small team, organizing their work and priorities to match client’s business expectations.

Bonus points if you...

• have experience with orchestration tools (e.g. managing Kubernetes clusters),

• have detailed knowledge about cloud service providers other than AWS and GCP,

• can boast a degree in theoretical Computer Science.
