Junior Site Reliability Engineer

Fibertide employs engineers with strong mathematical and computer science backgrounds. We design, maintain and develop large-scale cloud systems for companies from the U.S. and Europe. Our customers include both ambitious startups and established businesses that require assistance improving their technologies for large userbases, big datasets and rapid growth.

• implementing (together with our more experienced team members) cloud-based infrastructure for complex, large-scale systems and developing specialized data-processing software,
• advising our customers and their development teams on cloud-native solutions and developing in-house utilities for managing cloud systems,
• solving unconventional technical challenges that nobody else can tackle. Companies from around the world will depend on your help to get the most out of the cloud, using systems designed by Fibertide.

We expect that you...

• are a thorough troubleshooter who doesn’t give up when things get extremely complex while analysing a problem,
• are proficient in maths, theoretical computer science and practical aspects of advanced algorithms,
• are familiar with public cloud platforms and can build a simple application on AWS, GCP, or a similar cloud service provider,
• are proficient in one or more general-purpose languages (e.g. Python, C++, Java, Go),
• have professional experience with complex software design and development,
• are familiar with IaC concepts and tools (e.g. Terraform),
• enjoy learning new languages and technologies,
• are deeply familiar and experienced with software optimization, networking concepts, version control, operating systems, low-level optimization,
• have a detailed understanding of many different programming tools and techniques,
• have great communication skills and can represent the company before our partners.

Bonus points if you...

• participated in programming contests with success,
• have experience managing a Kubernetes cluster,
• can boast a degree in theoretical Computer Science.
